Variable Magnification
More versatile than fixed power scopes. Variable magnification enables you to set up the scope for your specific needs at the time. Available with either fixed or adjustable parallax.
Fixed Parallax
Whilst cheaper than scopes with adjustable parallax the distance is normally fixed at a greater distance than you would use for airguns making them more suited to rimfire or centrefire rifles depending on where the parallax is set.
Adjustable Parallax
With higher magnification comes greater exaggeration of parallax error. Therefore it makes sense to get a scope with adjustable parallax (for most uses) that you can set for whatever distance you're shooting at, regardless of the type of rifle used.
