Karesuando is Sweden’s northernmost church village, 250 km north of the Arctic Circle, along the same latitude as middle Greenland and the northernmost regions of Canada. The village was founded with its first permanent house in 1670. Reindeer husbandry is one of the area’s most important industries and Karesuando lies within the Könkämä sameby reindeer-herding area.

This hunters axe from Karesuando is a work of art and comes razor sharp out of the box. The steel is hardened to about HRC55. Stainless steel, moose bone , reindeer antlers, curly birch and cowhide are the raw materials used to manufacture this beautiful axe.
