This is a fine piece of handcraft made in the Finnish part of Lapland in a traditional northern Scandinavian way. It comes with a handy firestriker steel (and pocket on sheath) that will ensure that wherever the knife is, you can create fire, even at 30 degrees below freezing point!

The blade is 10.5cm (4.2 inches) long, is Very Sharp and is made from high Quality Carbon Steel hardened to HRC 63-65 and tempered to HRC 59 to balance ductility and brittleness. The blade extends with an internal tang secured with a rivet to the top of the handle. It has a special sharp notch towards the top of the blade which is used to scratch against the firestriker steel to create sparks that can ignite tinder, paper, small shavings of wood or bark.

The handle is made from a combination of Curly Birch, thin layers of Leather and Reindeer Antler.

The sheath is made from wet-formed vegetable tanned leather - It has an additional pocket to accommodate the firestriker. It is attached to a reindeer leather belt hanger.

The firestriker will last for several thousand strikes, it is an army-sized large firestriker steel. It extends about 6cm (2.3 inches) from the end of its handle.

The handle is made from curly birch and reindeer antler and has a small leather string looped through a hole in the handle.
