A drop-point blade made of corrosion-resistant 1.4116 blade steel with a toxic satin finish serves as the mouthpiece. The Fire Ant only prepares for its powerful bite when the flipper is activated, while the double detent ball mechanism keeps the knife securely open. Two balls inside the liner are pressed against the opened blade, which can be easily closed again by overcoming the clamping resistance.
