The H&N Slug HP is a pellet which differs significantly from the usual pellets due to its bullet shape. It‘s designed for powerful rifles which can shoot such projectiles precisely at targets at 50, 100 or even 200 meters distance. An extremely favorable ballistic coefficient (BC) ensures a flat trajectory and excellent energy retention. To accommodate different barrel profiles and power levels, we offer options in diameter (.217 cal. / .218 cal.) and weight. The muzzle energy of the rifle should be at least 25 joules, but for best results we recommend 40 to 60 joules. All pellets get visually inspected, hand packed and secured for transport with foam pads.

Airguns are rapidly evolving. What a modern PCP airgun can do these days is simply staggering. These last few years, the techonology, efficiency, and abilities have exponentially increased. The modern shooter needs innovative ammo that can shoot longer and still retain high precision accuracy.

The standard diabolo pellet shape helps maximize accuracy with airgun barrels with its low bearing surface and ability to shape itself to the barrel. Its limitations in drag and quick loss of energy, simply cannot maximize the potential of the modern PCP airgun.

To solve all these issues FX presents a new Hybrid Slug that is a perfect blend of pellet and slug. It has a higher ballistic coefficient, is lighter in weight, and can be shot out of most PCPs with massive expansion.
The FX Hybrid Slug will revolutionize what an airgun can do. The Hybrid benefits from the external dimensions of a high ballistic coefficient slug, but has a completely hollow core and deep recessed base, making it light enough to be shot accurately by most PCPs. These sample sets lets you test different weights to find the perfect pellet for your airgun. 

Minimum muzzle energy should be 25 Joules but we recommend a muzzle energy of 40 – 60 Joules for good results. Barrels with a shorter twist rate and specifically made for Slugs produce significantly better results. All pellets get visually inspected and hand packed.
