The Helle Skog Fixed Blade Knife is Hand Finished by Skilled Craftsmen in Norway.

Knives are made to shape. Skog - named after the Scandinavian word for forest - is developed for evenings by the campfire in the forest, with a knife in one hand and a piece of greenwood in the other.

It is slightly more robust than the typical carving knives, adding versatility for tasks around camp. It therefore has the trademark ergonomics that many helle knives are known for, with a very small finger notch to guide the grip without limiting the hold. This design delivers the best possible precision when holding the knife close to the blade for carving.

The blade is short enough for maximum control when carving, but long enough to cut the cuisine when your work is done for the evening. The Scandinavian flat ground blade has a slight drop point and curved edge that delivers a smooth cut. As with all Helle knivs using our triple laminate steel the Scandi grind retains an edge well and is easy to get back to shape when needed.

Each knife comes with a classic back-sewn sheath made of brown leather.

A design collaboration between Andrew Demko and Lynn C. Thompson, the Cold Steel Finn Hawk is the latest in our series of inexpensive hard wearing bushcraft and outdoor tools. Its traditional Nordic styled “Scandi Ground” German 4116 steel blade is sub-zero cryo-quenched for superior edge holding potential, with a steep 7.5mm blade bevel and a functional curving belly for skinning and slicing strokes. Furthermore, its 4” blade is more than big enough for most game processing tasks, not to mention for camp chores and food prep too.

The Finn Hawk’s handle is two time injection molded. The first layer of high-impact polypropylene is strong, durable and highly weather resistant, while the outer layer (made of TPR rubber) has a whorled spiral pattern providing a food safe, comfortable and secure grip in even the worst conditions.

The Finn Hawk is supplied complete with a slim line secure-ex polymer sheath with integrated belt loop.

High Quality Belt Mounted Cognac Brown Leather Dangler from Casstrom to Make Wearing Fixed Blade Knife Sheaths More Comfortable.

Casström's No.3 Dangler is an excellent accessory which lets your knife hang lower down from the waist, enabling it to move freely. This makes movement and handling on and off the belt easier and smoother. The specially designed D-ring can also be used for other purposes.

This product has been designed as a result of customers requesting an extended belt loop - a "dangler" - so that a knife can be easily accessed when you are wearing a jacket or have a large backpack on with a hip belt. The knife comes off easily without having to open your belt, you can also move the knife to your backpack if required, or just quickly remove it if you are approaching an area where knives should not be visible.

Other benefits of using a Dangler are that it is easier to sit down without the knife causing an obstruction. When the sheath hangs it will bend at the height of the hip joint which allows the knife to smoothly follow your leg movement. If you anchor it to the leg you can run, climb and bend without the knife getting in the way.
We have also designed the D-ring as a carabiner which gives the product many more features and applications. The D-ring is made of sturdy 8mm thick aluminum and tested up to a 450kg breaking load which means that you can use it for lots of different purposes, for example to hang up equipment, pull an animal or anchor a dog leash to your waist.
Note that the D-ring should not be used when climbing as falling can create forces that significantly exceed 450kg.

The belt loop is made of sturdy 3mm thick vegetable tanned cowhide available in Cognac Brown or Black. The loop can take belts with a width up to 5cm. The Dangler's D-ring will take knife sheaths with a belt loop up to 34mm wide.
